As we move into June, we want to update
everyone on several fronts:
1. We continue to pursue our lawsuit for payment
for services delivered under legally binding
contracts, even as the Governor and the General
Assembly are unable to reach a budget deal.
2. Our first date in Cook County Circuit Court
on June 2 was continued until next Tuesday, June
7.
3. We continue to deliver services, though we
have not been paid in 11+ months for those
services performed under signed contracts that
are in place.
4. The longer the budget impasse goes on, the
more agencies will have to cut programs, scale
back hours or close altogether. Please take a
look at the Illinois
Atlas of Austerity, which graphically
illustrates the many ways the budget impasse is
affecting human and social service providers and
those they serve throughout our state.
